Yeah yeah, I know I've been MIA for a while. I have been in an video game haze for the last week or so. I spent a couple days playing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, which although I guess is technically an "action RPG" really feels more like just a straight up RPG-RPG. Coming from more "realistic" combat systems (because shooting flames out of your hands is totally realistic), the combat feels like eating lots and lots of candy. This is really the only way I can describe it, but isn't a bad thing by any means. The sad thing about this game was that I found the side quests extremely boring and uninspired-- or perhaps I just picked all the wrong ones. I ended up only doing the faction quests and main line.
However, what I've really been into lately is Mass Effect! I have no idea how I've never played it before, but whatever, I'm catching up in time for the third one. My partner calls my character a "Space Dyke" because she looks like a mix between Amber rose and Lara Stone, you know, if Rose was caucasian.
I love how she says all these bad ass things (I tried to keep her at all Paragon, but sometimes the Renegade options were too awesome) with a full face of makeup on, including lipstick and-- my signature-- NO EYEBROWS. Yeah.
I just finished the first one and now I'm on the second. I don't know why I ended up choosing Kaiden as my partner in the first one, because Liara T'Soni was a hot babe... Think I accidentally got locked into it after too many flirtatious statements. However, this game I am ALL ABOUT THE ALIENS. Trying to decide between Garrus and Thane. Too bad you can't romance Legion.
