I went back to Seattle last week for two of my best friends' wedding. Sometimes it's only when you leave that you realize how amazing your friends are, and I miss Seattle ferociously.
Anyway, they had an incredibly beautiful ceremony in a drop dead gorgeous temple. I had never been to an Indian wedding before, and it was so incredibly lovely. I didn't understand a word, but I guess no one else did either because the Priests speak in Sanscript, which is their holy language and precursor to the colloquial Indian language (somewhat akin to Latin and English). It was so happy and lively.
The gorgeous bride and groom.
I even got to wear a bindi!
All the women wore beautiful sarees, and I was able to wear one as well! I never wear colour so it was a very different look for me, but I felt extremely fabulous. I wish I could wear one all the time!
I ate SO MUCH food that I thought I was going to fall through the floor! I love Indian food so much-- I even joked that I should divorce and find an Indian husband so his mother could cook authentic meals for us all the time! Haha. Their reception was awesome, and we danced for hours. The way they dance is exhilarating, it's so energetic and makes you feel like you are floating. I had the best time ever, and I was so sad for it to end!
