New Website!

Whew! I posted about this on facebook but I didn't remember to update here!

It took me literally an entire week of blearily trying to make sense of CSS and getting used to typing with my fresh acrylic claws, but I finally got my new site up! If you haven't see it yet, please take a look at it and let me know what you think!

Busy bee!

This last week has been so incredibly busy with several freelance gigs, filling an absolutely gigantic order for Swagger Cosmetics, gogo dancing, and planning my Halloween costume... Which is going to be EPIC if I can manage to pull it off.

I feel like I'm just coming back to life... Between having to wake up at 8, working all day, and dancing until 2am, I've been a complete zombie! I'm definitely looking forward to this week! I still have a lot of work to get through, but at least I've caught up on some rest.

A couple snaps from this week:
Gogoing with Amoania (one of my friends from Seattle!!) and Tiger. I love Amoania so much, her looks are always over the top fun and creative.
I know it looks really emo here, but I was inspired by Amoania's paint splatters.

Btw, if you haven't friended me on instagram yet, please do!

Drag Queen Fashion Show Pt. 2

I'm still waiting for official pictures from my friend's fashion show that I posted about last week, but I got some more random pictures from the event!

Drag Queen Fashion Show

On Thursday I worked at my friend Maricella Olague's fashion show. She created a line of cocktail dresses (one of which I may or may not have tried to steal off the model!) and wanted all boys/drag queens to wear them! I was the head makeup artist and my assistant never showed up... But that's a different story! I did a very typical drag look with exaggerated smokey eyes, elevated drawn on brows, and a vampy lip for fall. Anyway, it was so fun, I can't wait to get back the photos of all the boys in their dresses, but for now I'll just post the silly poses we bombarded the photobooth with!
Yes, I know I still have makeup on my hands!
I'm loving this short hair! I wore a hat and veil creation from my friend Tiger. The glass parts are actually a mix of glass and plastic-- and were really sharp as I found out! I was talking to someone when I realized that my hands were extremely sticky, and then when I looked down I found that they were covered in blood! Oh the things I do to be fabulous!

Tiger & I. Doesn't he look great blonde??

Kat was the only girl model. She is kind of way too gorgeous! I might be in love.

 So Silly.

San Francisco Fashion Week

Last week my friend Tiger and I went to San Francisco Fashion week (well, okay, only the big show on Sunday). It was so much fun! I met so many fun people who I cant wait to work with in the future.

I've been really digging the vampy look for fall, and I wasn't the only one! Everywhere I looked there were girls rocking deep lips. I typically wear (bright) red, hot pink, orange, or nude on my lips, so this is definitely a different look for me. I also almost never wear black hair, but I've been really enjoying it with this look.

I wanted to go for a no-eyebrow glitter cat eye look like I usually do, but have it different than usual. I drew dots under each eye, and had a different pattern for each eye to give it both a unique look, as well as make it easier for application since I didn't have to worry about symmetry. I loved this look!

It's hard to see in this picture, but I wore a lace yoke top over an american apparel onesie. I'm not sure why I went for a essentially bottomless look when I was surrounded by super tall skinny girls, but whatever! I'm essentially wearing all the same accessories (including wig/hair accessories) as I did the day before at a lolita meetup (post coming soon!), and it's amazing how different or versatile they can be depending on the outfit. The outfits are clearly different, but are tied together with the same accessories. I think I should take a week wearing the same accessories, and build all my outfits around them.
So silly!
Hey, gotta keep the sponsors happy!
Anyway, enough about me, on to the show! There were six designers, but the ones who stood out to me were Artful Gentleman, who showed off perfectly tailored suits with the most fun pocket squares I've ever seen. I unfortunately couldn't find any photos of the collection they showed, but I'll update this when the pictures come through.

I also adored Camelia Skikos, whose inspiration came from the rigid sharpess and beauty of modern architecture. I loved seeing her unique mixture of textiles and silhouettes, and out of all the collections this was definitely the one that I could most see myself wearing (although the colour palette of the collection pictured below may have something to do with it!)

I also adored Van Der Neer: The 11th Dimension, whose clothing was full of fun and cheeky cutouts, embellishments, patterns and shapes that I had never seen before.

Folsom Street Fair 2012

I got to go to Folsom last week, and it was so fun! I'm not into the BDSM/Leather scene, but I'm always excited to see people dressed up (or undressed) in a way that is different from the norm. We saw some live kink shows, which were not really what we were into, but it was fun and different to experience.

I wore my custom Jamie Von Stratton dress that I also wore on New Years, it's one of my absolute favourite articles of clothing but sadly I don't find enough events to wear it to. Also, I want it to stay magical, so I can't wear it every week! I was probably one of the most covered up people there, which is kind of ironic since it's usually the exact opposite!

I had a lot of fun with my makeup though, I decided to do a graphic liner with no shadow, which is definitely a different look for me because I /always/ have some shadow on! I loved it though, and I feel like it kind of gave me a distant/blank/glossy eyed look. I paired it with my favourite teal wigs (yes, plural), bright cheeks, and green glitter lips.

My friend Tiger. He loves to make accessories with broken glass, it's so fantastic! We tried to not stop too often because it would be about 10 minutes until we got to move again, I guess people really liked our outfits. Our biggest pet peeve was when people called it "costumes," though-- Uhm, we look like this EVERY day! Also, I don't even know what kind of costumes these would be...

Some random fabulous ladies we ran into. Check out those EYES!

Poking around online later, I also somehow missed out on this lady, Misstress Liliane Hunt, who is a drop dead gorgeous mistress! I wish I saw her in person, she looks absolutely stunning.

I can't wait for next year! I'll update again if I get any more photos trickling through!
